The “New Face of the Euro” is a travelling exhibition which presents euro banknotes in an accessible and interactive way.
The exhibition includes:
the new €5 banknote with its enhanced security features. A portrait of Europa forms part of the hologram and watermark;
a film about the introduction of the second series of euro banknotes, with a focus on Europa.
The exhibition also has many other items of interest for young and old alike, such as:
interactive applications and games on euro banknotes and coins;
a side-by-side comparison of genuine and fake euro banknotes;
the pre-euro national currencies;
the children’s booklet – “Anna and Alex take on the banknote forgers”, leaflets and other publications.
In addition to the exhibition, the European Central Bank and the Banco de España are organising the “Euro Run competition Spain 2013” from 26 March until 12 May 2013 for children aged 9 to 12 years old who live in Spain. The three winners of the competition will receive an e-reader.
